Título traducido: "El Alcázar tomado desde el barranco, Toledo". Esta vista se incluye entre las 312 españolas recogidas por Jean Andrieu en su Catalogue des vues stéréoscopiques des Pyrenées... Nouvelle collection de l'Espagne (Paris: Imprimerie Centrale des Chemins de Fer, 1868), presentado en la Biblioteca Nacional francesa en 27 de agosto de 1868. A Toledo le dedica veinticuatro vistas, numeradas desde la 2643 a la 2664, más la 2656 bis y la 2659 bis. Jean Andrieu fue un fotógrafo y editor de vistas estereoscópicas activo en Paris entre 1862 y 1872. En ese último año sus fondos fueron adquiridos por Adolphe Block, que realizó con ellas distintas ediciones pero manteniendo casi siempre la numeración dada por el propio fotógrafo. Sobre la fecha de realización de las estéreos de la ciudad de Toledo, entendemos que se datan entre abril y agosto de 1868 por la información que nos ofrece las propias imágenes (arbolado, obras...). Esta vista se corresponde con las que Miguel Hervás León, en su artículo "La serie de vistas estereoscópicas de España de J. Andrieu y un paseo por el Madrid de 1867", aparecido en Archivo Español de Arte, LXXVIII: 312 (2005) pp. 381-396, considera de su segunda edición comercial, caracterizadas por utilizar cartulinas de color naranja en el anverso y gris en el reverso. En el borde inferior derecho de su anverso se recoge el número de serie, el título en francés y las siglas del fotógrafo (J.A.), en color rojo. Las fotografías adheridas al cartón tienen en su borde superior las esquinas redondeadas.
